All Material Donated By Jack Ma Has Been Moved From Lagos To Abuja
Earlier this week, theco-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Groupof Alibaba, Jack Ma promised to donate emergency kits for countries affected by coronavirus Nigeria inclusive.
And yesterday, the materials for Nigeria arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to a tweet by Adetutu Balogun, she claimed that all the materials that was brought in have been moved to Abuja when 70% of the confirmed cases are in Lagos.
They have moved all the material donated by Jack Ma from MMA Lagos to Abuja.70% of the cases so far are identified in Lagos. Why move everything to Abuja?
From the information we gathered, there are now shortage of personal protective equipment, especially masks, infrared thermometers, sanitisers and protective coverall has hit many of the public hospitals in the state which might expose theHealth workers in Lagos State to danger.
Currently, Lagos is the state most hit by the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
As at the time of this report, Lagos accounts for 30 of Nigeria’s 46 confirmed cases.
Thescarcity of the equipment has been confirmed by the state government. Although, he said efforts are being made to make provisions as many health facilities as possible.
We gathered that protective tools are said to be shared among workers in hospitals located in Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos Island, Ikorodu, Gbagada, among others.
