Graphic: Lady empties a pot of hot water on her sleeping husband in Bayelsa

A man, identified as Oyinkro Miebode, got more than he bargained for on June 3, 2020, as his wife, Maureen, emptied a pot of hot water on him while sleeping at their home along INEC Road, Kpansia, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

According to reports, trouble started on the evening of the previous day, when he slapped her for raining insults on him because he came too early to meet her somewhere in town.

They had agreed to meet at 8pm, but because he closed early from work and got a lift from his boss, he got to their agreed meeting place by 7pm. .

While hanging around till it is 8pm, he saw Maureen walking past him, so he ran to her to notify her of his presence, but instead, she got angry that he came earlier than they agreed. According to him:

“In shock, I then asked why she was angry that I came early. That was when she started accusing me of monitoring her. She insulted me till we got home.

I thought that we could settle the matter at home but it was hell. So out of anger, I gave her two warning slaps and instructed her to go to the bedroom and sleep.

At that point, a friend called me to come to his place for a private birthday party, and unfortunately, I came back home at about 1 am. So I was sleeping on the sofa in my living room when suddenly she bathed me with hot water.”

The wife fled home immediately but has been calling and asking the family forgiveness, noting that it was the devil that pushed her.

Update on the man who steals shoes to have sex with them

Remember the man in Thailand who steals shoes to have sex with them? We brought you a story sometime ago about a man who has been accused of stealing his neighbours’ flip-flops to have sex with them.

Police says that Theerapat Klaiya, 24, has a fetish for flip-flops and stole 126 pairs from locals in Nonthaburi, central Thailand.

Officers identified Klaiya using footage from CCTV set up outside his latest alleged victim’s home. When they searched the man’s home, they found his sprawling collection of shoes that he claimed he had been collecting for more than two years.

According to Police claims, Klaiya said he would wear them around his home as it turned him on. He allegedly told officers that after several hours of wearing the flip-flops, he cuddled and kissed them, stripping off and rubbing them on his body, before ‘having sex with them.’

Police said his collection included dozens of different brands, sizes and colours of shoes, all of them well worn. The vast array of footwear was laid out in front of the Nonthaburi police station as part of a press conference on Monday.

Klaiya admitted three charges of nighttime theft and snatching, possessing a digital transceiver without permission, and violating the coronavirus curfew, police said.

Major Colonel Ekkaphop Prasitwattanachai told local media it was not Klaiya’s first offence for similar acts. He said,

“After we arrested the suspect, we also found out that he had already been arrested last year for stealing flip-flops in another district.

He fully admitted stealing the sandals for lewd purposes, so will be detained at the station until a court appearance for prosecutors to decide on the next part of the legal process for him.”

Man sentenced to death for raping 2 year old girl to death

A man has been sentenced to death in Kaduna for raping a two-year-old girl to death.
Justice Kabir Dabo of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Dogarawa Sabon Gari, Zaria, sentenced Usman Shehu Bashir on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, according to a report by The Punch.

The convict's death sentence relied on Section 221 of the Penal Code, Kaduna State law 1999 (as amended). Bashir had confessed to the crime of luring the child, identified as Fatima, and raping her for 40 minutes, leading to her death. The incident took place in 2015.

Sexual crimes have attracted national attention over the past week after the high-profile rape and murder of Uwaila Omozuwa, a 22-year-old first year student of the University of Benin.

The Jigawa State Police Command also announced the arrest of 11 men who had, at different times and on many occasions, allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl.

This was then followed by the rape and murder of Barakat Bello, 18, at the home she shared with her family on Monday, June 1.

Many Nigerians have called for stiffer penalties for rapists, as well as the faithful implementation of current laws.

During plenary on Tuesday, June 2, the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, called on State Assemblies to amend the penal and criminal code to deter rapists with stiffer penalties. "We stand together shoulder to shoulder on this, and I think we need to make the penalties for rape stiffer to be sufficient deterrent for those who are involved in this, or who even desire to be involved," he said.

Man remanded for raping 7 month old daughter

A 38 year old man has been remanded in Makurdi Correctional Centre. The man who was identified as Simon Emeka was arraigned for allegedly raping his seven-month-old daughter, Prosper Emeka.

The ruling was made by a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Friday.

When the case came up for mentioning, Police Prosecuting Officer, Friday Kanshio, informed the court that on June 1, one Josephine Habba of No 34 Modern Market Road, Makurdi, went to the Nigerian Police Force ‘D’ Division Makurdi and lodged a complaint.

She said that on the same date, she went to Jestic Hospital in Makurdi with her daughter for treatment and she heard one Favour Emeka crying and telling a nurse that her seven-month-old baby girl named Prosper Emeka was raped by her husband.

He said during Police investigation, the said Simon Emeka was arrested for committing the crime which is contrary to section 391 and 284 of the penal code law of Benue State.

No plea was taken for want of jurisdiction. However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Police Prosecuting Officer further told the court that further investigation into the matter was on and asked for another date to enable the prosecution to prove its case.

Magistrates Isaac Ajim agreed with the officer and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Service.

He adjourned the case till August 31, 2020, for further mention.

See why this man beat his 4 year old son into coma

A man who was identified as Tunde, has beaten his son, Ezekiel into coma. He has been arrested for beating his four year old son into a state of coma.

The body of the boy was reportedly filled with marks as at the time of the arrest. Tunde attributed the wickedness to the fact that the little boy passed excreta on himself.

According to reports from their neighbors, Ezekiel's mum and Tunde were married for a few years before she fled for her life due to being a regular victim of domestic violence in her own home.

We learnt from a neighbour that Ezekiel was always being maltreated by Tunde and his new wife.

“Tunde married another wife and the woman always beats Ezekiel at every little provocation.

Nobody in the neighbourhood could stop Tunde from beating the boy because of his unruly behaviour,” the neighbor said.
