Ideanians have not forgotten this artitcle! Ideani not a haven for uncultured- the Youths/Elders calls for Governors Intervention

Elders and citizens of Ideani community in Idemili North Council of Anambra state have at the weekend sent a desperate save-our-soul message to Gov Willie Obiano to save the sleepy community from an impending crisis currently creeping into their midst as a result of the unilateral introduction of what they described as “a Caretaker executive comprised of strange characters”, to pilot the affairs of the community.
Leading the call on the state government to rescind its composition of the caretaker leadership was the chairman of the Regent and chairman of the community’s Igwe-in-Council cabinet, Chief Sylvester Okafor who addressed journalists who were on hand to witness the inaugural meeting of the new executive.

Save for the timely intervention of some elders and security officers of the Department of State Services(DSS) it would have been a massive bloody destruction of lives and property at the community’s Civic Centre when a section of the citizens insisted they must express their views when they were prevented from addressing the gathering. Apparently the caretaker team was suspicious of their intentions.
The ding-dong crisis which held up take off of proceedings started when the visibly vexatious Caretaker committee headed by Mr Remmy Okpoko who read out the letter from the state government which set them up prevented those who raised objections from speaking.

Okpoko had hardly taken his seat when questions started flying from different directions probing the source of the list of the caretaker members. They alleged that it couldn’t have come from one who wished Ideani well but from someone with sinister motive and aim. They accused the government and whoever that drew up the list of insensitivity, pointing out that a named key member of the committee has been banned from religious, traditional and cultural responsibilities in the community for abominably having carnal knowledge of one of his own daughters; consequently the Catholic Church has de-knighted him and he’s literally sent out of public office. Another member, Chief Theo Ikenwa has been on suspension from the community’s Igwe-in-council’s cabinet for conduct considered unbecoming of a high traditional chief. While Chief Egbuna Atuokoye in concert with another, dragged the community to court over issues bothering on leadership. The case is still pending in a high court of the state.

Chief Okafor, was sharp and direct on the stand of the Igwe’s cabinet when he said, “Ideani do not recognize the Caretaker committee. We were never consulted and didn’t make input to its membership. It’s like a list drawn by one or two faceless persons hence full of the wrong characters. So why should anyone who meant well for the people gather people with the negative baggage listed above to oversee the peace and progress of the same community. It’s sacrilegious…”

According to him, the cabinet which I chair has been in-charge of Ideani since our Igwe joined his ancestors. We ought to vet and make input in the list. The state government should dissolve them and allow the community to nominate a robust team”.

Taken up on the obvious rejection from virtually all quarters, its vice chairman, Chief Egbuna Atu-Okoye said the Caretaker committee was a wise creation of the state government. That the tension and crisis was a misplaced suspicion that they would dabble into the knotty issue of selection of a new traditional ruler to replace the late Igwe Humphrey Okoye whose last ofala was celebrated about two years ago.
Chief Cletus Uwaezuoke assured the citizens that from experience and records, no caretaker team anywhere dabbles into the issue of selection of a new Igwe. That the Okpoko committee’s terms of reference was clear and unambiguous.

But Chief Ernest Enenwa who did not hide his fears about the likely motive of those contrived the list said he want to ensure that all segment of the community was involved and carried along every step of the way.
A group of citizens had earlier written the state government saying, “We, the concerned Ideanians are terribly disturbed by the present development that we are seeing now and felt saddened that the
Government stand appears to be an open invitation to crises, breakdown of Law and order that could lead to colossal failure in restoring peace and tranquility in our town…”

They had accused Gov Obiano of stoking crises in no fewer than twenty named communities presently out of sheer arrogance of power and obstinacy and therefore appealed for caution in the Ideani matter. The communities include Awa, Nkpor, Nando, Nsugbe, Omasi, etc

ONNOGHEN: LAWYERS NATIONWIDE TO BOYCOTT THE COURTS FOR TWO DAYS

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has resolved that all its members should boycott the courts nationwide for two days (Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 January 2019) to protest the "constitutional infractions in the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria".

The body reached the decision on Monday at an emergency meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) held at the NBA Auditorium, NBA House, Plot 1101 Muhamadu Buhari Way, Cadastral Zone A00 Central Area, Abuja.

Attendance at the NEC meeting was limited only to Statutory NEC members, who are national officers, past presidents, past general secretaries, branch chairmen, branch secretaries, branch NEC representatives and chairmen and secretaries of sections.

As all Nigerian lawyers are automatic members of the NBA, the resolution means all lawyers anywhere in the country will be absent in court for two days.

President Muhammadu Buhari suspended Onnoghen as the CJN on Friday and swore in Tanko Mohammed in acting capacity, leading to widespread condemnation both from home and abroad.

NASARAWA STATE IS PDP DECLARES CAN

The Nasarawa State chapter of the People's Democratic Party - PDP wish to send our profound gratitude to the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Nasarawa North and West zones of Nasarawa State chapters, for making the bold and gallant step of endorsing our candidate, Hon. Davematics Umbugadu for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

These endorsements indeed didn't come to us as a surprise as the candidate of the PDP, the young and energetic David has displayed great humility, diligence and respect for constituted authorities and elders, not only in his duties as a distinguished member of the National Assembly, but also in his campaigns as the Party's flag bearer in the upcoming election.

We highly appreciate the effort CAN is putting to see the socioeconomic growth and peaceful coexistence of our dear state. You have indeed proven your love for our dear state in truth and fairness to all.

At this point, we want to assure the people of Nasarawa State that unlike some candidates from mushroom parties who have been running from churches to mosques and to shrines just to salvage their already dying popularity, Mr Umbugadu would continue to go about his peaceful campaign with all diligence and the fear of God.

And if elected, he would not disappoint in this great responsibility.

We the PDP also encourage every citizen of Nasarawa State to take the path of the CAN not only to endorse, but also to vote for Honorable David Umbudagu as he is the only candidate who is detribalised, liberal and would be fair to all in the discharge of his duties as the executive governor of Nasarawa State.

FULANI WAR THREAT IN NIGERIA

(Translation of pamphlet issued in Arabic and distributed in selected Mosques in Northern Nigeria by FULANI NATIONALIST MOVEMENT, FUNAM dated November 6, 2018).

The battle is getting closer. We call on all true Muslims :this is the time to act. This is the time for second Holy War. We started in 1804. The British stopped us. We must regain the territories lost. It is against Islam to rotate power with infidels.

Forget about election that will only lead to sharing of power. Think of the Kingdom that we shall rule for ever. WE CAN Change the naughty history. Utman Dan Fodio did it successfully. We can do it. We must take the enemies in the West, Central and the last by surprise. That is the plot.

Disperse and occupy their homes, occupy their forests, occupy their streets.,occupy their schools, occupy their markets and act spies. You will suffer in this, rain and shit will pour on you, but heaven will honour you after the inevitable battles. Our attacks on the infidels must be total and overwhelming. We must begin by installing fear in them, weaken their resolve through kidnaps, brutal rapes, making it difficult for them to farm and subdue them before the war. Our strategies involves learning from the tactics of the past and merge it with the wisdom of the moment. There is no going back.

Nigeria is our own. It was handed over to us by Allah. How then can we share what is ours? We must never fight a defensive war. We must take the battle to the homes of the infidels. We must use everything that we have. Whether you are a boy, a lady, a man or a woman, all Muslims of Fulani Origin must take this as a duty. We must sharpen our fighting weapons.

Everything is a weapon. Your okada, your knives, your hands, the trailers you drive, the tankers with fuel, food you sell, the house of the infidels that you guide, study very well and wait for our order. Exploit the weaknesses of the infidels. They are lousy, lack discipline, sleep like fools, love parties and dances, lack discipline and mostly unarmed. With your vantage position you can take on a whole family of 10, conquer and kill them if need be.

The battle must be fought in their homeland. The Middle Belt must be totally crushed. They are few and divided. Never trust anyone in the EAST and not in SOUTH, not even their filthy Muslims who do everything Allah rejects. GET YOURSELF PREPARED. THE BATTLE IS NEAR.
