JAMB Scraps The Use Of Mouse, Adopts “Eight-Key Device” System For 2017 CBT Exam

In order to deal with the challenge of computer low level literacy of some candidates, especially with the phobia for the mouse, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has disclosed that it will adopt an “eight-key device” for the 2017 UTME.
Speaking during the Strategic Planning retreat on Supervision and Evaluation of 2017 UTME examinations the JAMB Registrar noted that in order to ensure equity and level playground for all candidates taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Board has designed a system that will allow candidates use only eight (cool keys without the use of the mouse.
All the candidates need to do is to press the letters A,B,C,D for responses (answers) to questions and keys P, N, S and R representing different functions as follows:
P = Previous question
N = Next question
S = Submit responses when candidate has finished examination
R = Reverse (do not intend to go further to submit again)
According to him, this new method will eradicate the challenge of low computer literacy and phobia for mouse by some candidates.
On the new arrangements for the visually impaired candidates, the JAMB Registrar said Digital Bridge Institute in partnership with the board has agreed to set up three dedicated centres in Abuja, Lagos and Kano in 2018.
But for the 2017 UTME, board has reached an understanding with the association for the blind persons in Nigeria and blind students in Lagos that an abridged approach would be used for the 2017 UTME, whereby all prospective blind candidates would be invited to three centres in the country for special assessment in their subjects of choice and relevance to their desired courses and programmes.

I was a Pastor, I built a church and won souls for God while in prison - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed how God made him build a church during his incarceration at Yola Prison and later won the souls of several inmates including a notorious robber/murderer who later became a pastor with Baptist church.
Speaking at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church in Lagos, last Sunday, during a Thanksgiving Service to mark his 80th birthday, Obasanjo called on Nigerians to work for God no matter the circumstances they find themselves.
“One, God made me to build a church,” Mr. Obasanjo said. “It’s very unusual, I asked the authorities for land, they were reluctant, but eventually they gave me land and immediately we started getting donations.
“It was started before I left Yola. Wherever you are, you can still be useful to the work of God.”
Obasanjo said he also got approval from prison authorities to farm while in detention and he cultivated “enough beans to feed all the inmates and warders.”
When he was transferred to the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos, Mr. Obasanjo said he became the prison pastor and won several souls for God.
"There was a boy whom they had introduced to me, his nickname was Baba Ali,” the former president said.
“Baba Ali was the head of the armed robbers in the North. And if you were an armed robber and you came to prison, you must first of all go and pay homage to him. If you were going out, you must go to him and ask for instruction on what to do next.
“So I called Baba Ali one day and said, ‘You are not coming to fellowship, I want you to be coming to the fellowship.’ And he said, ‘Baba, don’t worry me, don’t worry me at all because God can never forgive me. I have killed so many people in my life, I have drunk the blood of so many people, I have eaten the flesh of so many people and God will never forgive me, so don’t waste your time about me.'”
Mr. Obasanjo said he left Baba Ali for a while, and then returned later to continue his evangelism.
“I went back and said, ‘Baba Ali, you know all you said that you are a murderer, whether you killed only one person or a thousand people, you are a murderer; but you have forgotten that Moses was a murderer but God used him to bring the people of Israel out of Egypt?
“David was a murderer but God called him a man after my heart. By the time I was leaving the prison, I told Baba Ali that if he was able to make it and he would like to go to Bible school, I would send him to Bible school.”
Baba Ali was released from prison two years after Mr. Obasanjo, the former president said, by which time he had been elected Nigeria’s president.
“It took him two years to get through to me, when he got to me, I reminded him of our agreement and he said he was ready to go to the Bible school.
“So I sent him to the seminary, Baba Ali spent two years in the seminary. Today, he is a pastor of a Baptist Church. What is more? Baba Ali’s junior brother took after him and has also become a pastor".

THE 'INCONSEQUENTIAL' 22 MONTHS IN OFFICE

Hmmmm! One hungry youth with doubtful origin, out of his miscreancy and nincompoopery, has requested me to stop airing my views on matters concerning my state and community. I have no choice but to pardon his idiocy. I cannot rightly be angry with a mad man because he's mad. It's his fate. The truth is that I do not write to please anybody but to state the truth simpliciter. If my writing makes a person sad, that's even better because it could have the positive potentiality of spurring him to action - to do good, not to engage in my vain pursuit, ALTHOUGH I DO NOT CARE EITHER.
Some people expect me to wink when I should talk or tell a non-performer, as somebody did, that he "has vindicated and made himself distinguished in the area of human infrastructural development." Rubbish! I'm no idiot to make such arrantly stupid statement. Only favour seekers, who trust in men rather than God, could say so. Except you tell an ugly person that he's ugly, he'll come out in the next (assumed) world looking worse than the worst monster. No matter how close a person is to me, I'll not waste time in making my mind known if he or she is non-performing or non-performed in office.
Ok, now I go to the consequentiality or otherwise of 22 months in office. Buhari and all the state governors are 22 months in office today. I've been severally told in times past that my townsman who was governor of oil-rich Abia State left the state and his community far worse than he met them (the case with Buhari today) because 22 months in office are inconsequential and give the occupier of the office no time to perform. Hmmmm! Na so?
While the present Ebonyi governor, Engineer Dave Umahi, was being inaugurated on 29th May, 2015, I decided to keep tabs on his administration to determine how consequential or inconsequential 22 months in office could be, and to say something on the matter, notwithstanding that somebody had told me that I can't use Ebonyi State to make a fair assessment. Ebonyi, we all know is not an oil-producing state. Ebonyi, we all know is one of the least Federal allocation-receiving states. But I must use Ebonyi State to consider how consequential or inconsequential 22 months in office could be. I've seen and heard some things that have been done in the state to guide me. In 22 months, we have seen roads started, some completed and others ongoing. I've also seen other ongoing projects. I've also seen Street lights. I've also seen workers not only paid but also paid 13th month salaries. I'm, however, not unaware that the workers want increased pay. With Dave, I now know that we had previously been fed with lies, that 22 months cannot rightly be said to be inconsequential as a lot, indeed so much, could indeed be achieved within the period. So, I'm now much more reinforced in my conviction that my other brother, who lasted only 22 months in office as governor of Abia State, had no reason for non-performing, except to say that upon assumption of office then, he developed a hallucinating ambition to become the President of Nigeria. Just like that!
Now, let me go to another issue. Let me confess that I'm so concerned about the development of Ebonyi State. I'm interested in a fast track development of the state. The likes of one rotten Oruonye Chioma Mercy could not have talk down on the people of Ebonyi State and stupidly describe them as beggars if had always taken the issue of the development of the state serious.
I learnt that Dr Ogbonnaya Onu wants to build a skill acquisition centre in Ebonyi State. In the letter he allegedly wrote to the governor of Ebonyi State, he was, however, silent on and never requested or prayed for land allocation to be made by the government for the project. He also never said where he wants to build it. As a 'wise man' that he is, he refused to indicate where he wants to build it, because he wants to tell the rest of the state tomorrow that Governor Umahi diverted the project to his village. He has, however, told his small clique of Uburu people that the centre has been earmarked for Uburu. Assuming that he wants to build it in Uburu, why a skill acquisition centre? What about the one attracted by Hon. Darlington Okereke and built around the Ebotrans junction in Uburu? What has happened or is going to happen to it? Why can he not use his position in government to get it to start functioning, while he gives Uburu people something else, something better. Those who are close to our brother, Onu, should tell him to make haste while the sun shines. Enough of grandstanding. There's something called Federal might; it's not just about unfair manipulations. He's being too dull, and merely grandstanding. Onu should use his position to truly help Ndi-Ebonyi.

My husband stopped sleeping with me seven years ago.

For allegedly denying her sex for seven years, Mrs. Helen Otike, has approached an Igando Customary Court in Lagos, to end her 18-year-old marriage to her husband, Godwin.
The 50-year-old businesswoman told the court on Wednesday that her husband refused to make love to her all this long.
“My husband who built a duplex in Lagos abandoned me alone in his house and travelled to Abuja for greener pasture but whenever he comes home he refuse to sleep with me.
“He will enter his room and lock it from inside. I will knock severally but he will not open and after some days he will travel again.
“I have travelled to Abuja on many occasions to meet him at his office but he does not want me to know where he lives.
“I don’t know why he does not want me to have a child but he has children with other women.
“It is unfortunate, I have wasted my years with him without a child, I am 50 year-old now, where do I start from,” she said.
The petitioner also accused her husband of stealing her N500,000.
“When I flew my brother to India for kidney transplant, I kept N500,000 in my wardrobe so that I can see what to spend when I return.
“But when I came back, my husband had stolen the money and he is yet to give it to me,” she said.
She begged the court to dissolve the marriage.
However, Godwin Otike, denied stealing the woman’s N500,000, claiming that he used the money for prayers.
“When my wife took her brother abroad for kidney transplant, I took her money and used part to settle the pastors that were praying for the success of the transplant.
“I used the other part of the money for transportation to churches for prayers,” he said.
The 68-year-old training consultant said that he was told by his mother that his mother-in-law was behind his predicament.
“My mother told me before she died that my wife’s mother had hand in my downfall.
“She told me not to allow my wife to attend her burial when she died which I did,” he said.
The respondent conceded to the dissolution of the marriage that he too was also fed up with the union.
The court president, Mr. Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case until May 30 for judgment.

TENSION! Fulani Herdsman Rapes 70-Yr-Old Woman To Coma In Ebonyi, Boast That Government Empowered Them And This Unthinkable Happen Next {Must See}

ebo1
COMMERCIAL activities were yesterday paralyzed in Abakaliki following a protest staged by aged women over the alleged r@pe of a 70-year- old woman to coma on gun point by a herdsman in the State.
The protesters who hail from Mgbom in Isu community, Onicha Local Government area of the state, baricaded some major business areas including Fatilami Park and Ezza road among other places.
Addressing journalists, the leader of the group, Florence Okoro alleged that herdsmen have been r@ping them and their daughters at gunpoint, adding that the herdsmen also carted away their food items that include yams, garri and other belongings.
“The herdsmen have been r@ping us and our daughters and that is why we came to protest to the government to come to our rescue because we have had enough of these inhuman treatment from them.
The government should help us because we are dying of hunger caused by these herdsmen who have destroyed our crops and other properties.
“If we cook our food, they will come inside our house and take it and eat. We are farmers and we cannot do anything.
The worst of it is that the horsemen r@pe us in front our husbands. Our culture forbids a woman from having s*x with another man.
If it happens, you cannot come out or talk in public again because you are a forbidden person. “These horsemen have defiled us and we are worth nothing in our culture.
We are calling on our governor to tell the hersemen to leave us alone and they should pack out from our land,” she lamented.
Another protester, one Mrs Veronica Chukwu added that “We don`t go to the farms again to avoid being r@ped and our farms have been destroyed.
They are boasting that they are empowered by the government to move their cows around. “The main purpose we came out to protest today is because of the r@pe of one Mrs Alice Ogbonna, a 70-year-old woman to the point that she cannot walk again with her two legs.
Apart from the r@pe, they beat her with stick on her two arms and she cannot move her body again”. she added. The governor who addressed the protesters through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Augustine Nwankwegu said government must get to the root of the matter and urged them to maintain peace and order in the area.
“It is not a good thing for a herdsman to r@pe a woman. We have been having meetings with herdsmen and we always tell them to take it easy.
Government will now look into the activities of these people. We now have a law that will be used to judge anyone that indulges in this kind of crime,” he said.
But reacting to the development, the chief (Eze) of herdsmen in the State, Ardo Bello stated that the suspect, (names withheld) upon interrogation, denied engaging in such a heinous crime.
According to Bello, when the suspect was seen around the community, he was warned to stay away from the environment which he did.
“The community members even killed one of his cows. He is a stranger in the state. The suspect is already in the police net and has denied ever r@ping the victim contrary to speculations or claims from the community members.”
Also, the secretary of the herdsmen in the State, Alhaji Haladu said he just got to know about the incident and denied the involvement of any herdsman in such crime. “I just heard about the incident.
Not at all will a herdsman commit such crime because of how we comport ourselves in the state.
If we get the suspect, we will tell him to use the Quran to swear and if he refuses, it means he did it.
Apart from being arrested by the police, we know how we discipline our members.”
Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jude Madu said his office was yet to be furnished on the development.
