Three reasons for mass deaths in Kano – Expert

Nasiru Yusuf
The director center for infectious diseases, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Isa Abubakar has identified three reasons for the high number of deaths recorded this week in Kano.
Kano Focus reports that since the COVID-19 Lockdown imposed in the state the high number of deaths recorded in Kano metropolis has become a source of worry for residents.
Even though there is not an authoritative source that keeps track of deaths in Kano, investigation by Kano Focus confirms that more than 300 mostly elderly persons have died in the metropolis within four days of the lockdown.
Mr Abubakar, a professor of public health and community medicine told Kano Focus that the increasing rate of deaths could be attributed to one of three issues.
“First, they could be COVID-19 patients who were not tested, though this is insignificant. Because even in the countries with COVID-19 the percentage of deaths among infected persons is low. “Second, there are some people who need treatment for different health challenges, besides COVID-19. But the attentions of major hospitals have been shifted to COVID-19 and some patients may not even have access to the hospitals due to the traffic restrictions.
“Thirdly, people are now idle at home and therefore are free to take note of the number of deaths around them. That is why people assume there is an increasing death rate while probably there is none at all.” He said
Ministry of Health reacts
Meanwhile the Kano state ministry of health said it has commenced investigation into the matter.
A statement issued on Monday by Hadiza Namadi, the spokesperson of the ministry said the state commissioner of health Aminu Tsanyawa assured that investigation into the matter is ongoing to verify the claim and possible causes of the deaths.
He also assured that the public will be informed on the outcome of the investigation in due course.
While praying for the repose of the departed souls, the commissioner advised people to continue to observe social distancing, wash hands regularly, avoid gatherings and stay at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Why Gov. Dav Umahi, the best governor on infrastructure in the South East, the Governor without COVID 19 indexed cases ye reacted and acted up. Says no reasons for failures. Read below

PRESS STATEMENT of 22nd April 2020

"Report Accurately, Stop Causing Panic In Ebonyi With Fake News" - Governor Umahi to Journalists

My attention has been drawn to the news and a purportedly doctored audio and video making the rounds on Social and Print Media alleging that the governor banned Chijioke Agwu and Peter Okutu of Daily Sun Newspapers and Vanguard Newspaper respectively for life for publishing false reports and I make bold to state as follows:

1. That there were false reports from Chijioke Agwu of Daily Sun who reported that Lassa fever is killing Ebonyians in Droves on Tuesday, 14th April 2020, and Peter Okutu who reported that the Nigerian Military killed 20 Ebonyians just last weekend on 21st April 2020.

2. That the above two reports all raised alarm and caused panic in the midst of the fight against COVID19. No case of confirmed death caused by Lassa fever has been recorded in recent times in Ebonyi state neither was there any killing by the Nigerian Military last weekend in Ebonyi. The reports were all ill-conceived and have no truth in them.

3. The two journalists were never embarrassed, intimidated, or harassed to the knowledge of the Governor in any government event as alleged and the governor never ordered for such.

4. That the governor, Engr. David Umahi, FNSE, FNATE had on 15th and 22nd April 2020 called on the attention of the state NUJ Chapter, Comr. Tony Nwizi and advised him and his executive members to admonish members of the union in the state to ensure they make their findings correctly and avoid unverified and false reports as it doesn’t help in the progress and building of our country, Nigeria and also capable of causing panic in Ebonyi state.

5. That the governor never ordered a ban on any journalist from attending state functions.

Having made the above clarifications; I, therefore, call on the general public, NUJ and others concerned to discountenance with the false reports, videos and audio as they are either a figment of the bearers imagination which they brought to bear or a deliberate attempt geared towards smearing the hard-earned good reputation and good media relationship of the governor.

Signed:

Francis Nwaze
Special Assistant to the Governor

Please Don't Eat These Things From A Female friend, Cucumber, Carrots And Banana - Twitter User

There are a lot of wicked people around the world today and true friends are rare this day as compared to the abundance of fake friends, these fake friends are worste than enemies because you tend to be cautious when around an enemy and ready to defend yourself

But guards are always down around friends and if they turn to be fake friends then they can easily hurt you the most
A Twitter user shared a post urging people to turn down three kinds of veg/fruit from a female friend while briefly sharing her ordeal as to why she said so
See her post below
Now according to her post. She said her female friend confessed to her that she(friend) had one time made her eat a cucumber she (friend) used on herself, referring to fetish pleasure practice by "used on herself" she said as the result of such confession from the friend whom she described as ex friend she has been spiting all Day
Now obviously if she is warning people about Eating Carrots and banana from female friends it means they use them for fetish practice
So its left for you to follow her advice or not

2face Idibia's daughter Isabella will surpass Regina Daniels feat as a child actor

Isabella Idibia,2face Idibia’s first child and daughter withAnnie Macaulayis on the path to surpassRegina Daniels’ feat as a child actor.
It is no doubt that both Regina Daniels and Isabella Idibia have celebrity parents, who might have struck the acting abilities in them. Regina’s mum, Rita, is a Nollywood actress and Isabella’s mum, Annie, is a popular Nollywood actress.
The beautiful Isabella was first introduced to acting at the tender age of 5 - similar to the age Regina Daniels got her first acting role - and she hasn’t looked back since then.
Though Isabella had not been featured in many movies to concentrate on schooling, she has shown that she’s born to surpass even her own mother’s acting skills.
Isabella’s first movie role came in 2013. Her debut appearance in a Nollywood production was offered to her by Uche Jombo on the set of ‘Unconditional’. She landed the job without attention but became famous for it after one of the major stars on set, Dakore Akande extolled the child star’s acting prowess.
Isabella got herself a role as a kid actor alongside Isabelle Aghahowa. The film also featured Uche Jombo, Dakore Akande Egbuson, and her mum, Annie Idibia.

Just like Regina Daniels in her role withMercy Johnson OkojieinTchidi Chikere’s ‘Dumebi in school,’ Isabella wowed the audience at the tender age of 5.
With all the support and encouragement from her celebrity parents, Isabella kept improving on her act while continuing her education until she turned 10 in 2018.
In what looked like a perfect 10th birthday for Isabella, she got a casting for a TV show in 2018. Isabella landed a major TV show alongside veteran movie star Richard Mofe Damijo.
2face’s daughter’s acting ability was called upon again and this time, she will be acting alongside two veterans - Richard Mofe Damijo and Ego Boyo. The show, Mr. X Family TV show sees, Isabella playing the last child of RMD.
The young star at over 11-years-old has become one of the regular faces on national television - NTA and AIT - for her role in the RMD’s production.
This move is what sets Isabella miles apart from Regina Daniels making her a child actor aiming for the zenith. Also, the young Miss Idibia has been able to prove her acting abilities with two major productions. With her mum, Annie, as her manager - just like Rita and Regina - the sky will definitely be her starting point.
Isabella Idibia also acts alongside Gloria Young, Nina Anyianuka, Mozez Praiz, Philips Frances, Amara Audu, andMC Abbeyon the set of Mr. X family show.
