FC Ifeanyi Ubah wins Charity Cup for 2017

Yesterday, FC Ifeanyi Ubah were crowned the Champions of the 2017 Charity Cup after defeating Rangers International 4 goals to 3 on penalties.

While I celebrate and thank God for making it possible for the Anambra Warriors to emerge victorious yet again, I was moved by the great team spirit, tenacity and courage exhibited by our warriors, especially when they were reduced to 10 men as a result of the marching order given to one of our players in the first half.
In the light of the above, I hereby congratulate and thank the coaching crew for their resolve and uncommon composure in the game which snowballed into a positive result today. Our players were on top of their game yesterday evening. They rose to the challenge and continued pressurising their opponent even when they were disadvantaged numerically. What a determined, focused and committed team! Thank You Boys! Thank You Warriors!
What more can I say about our fans who made this victory possible by standing behind the team? I witnessed a committed group of people shouting, chorusing and cheering our team all the way to the finish line. What was more remarkable was that while we were without drums owing to the inability of our supporters club to make it to the stadium, our fans managed to seize the frequency of the airwaves of the Stadium with their untiring cheers that turned the entire attention towards them as they became the cynosure of all eyes. What a plethora of fans we have! For your unflinching support since the birth of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, I say thank you all.
As we are headed towards the new season, I call on our players not to lose focus but to keep striving for even more successes as we engage in both local and continental competitions.
Finally, I dedicate this victory to our fans and to the youths of this Country.
We are Champion of Champions!
Anyi bu ndi mmeri!
God bless you all.
Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah
