The government of Imo State has agreed to pay a compensation fee of N8 million to some Fulani cattle rearers whose cows numbering up to 55 were declared missing.
IDCC POST reports that the resolution followed a meeting summoned by the Interim Management Committee chairman of Ezinihitte LGA, F. S Onyeberechi last weekend at the council headquarters, Itu.
According to reports, the Fulani herders had recently raised alarm over their missing cows after a little misunderstanding with some youths of the area.
They alleged that 55 of their cows were missing and two dead.
Some of the resolutions reached during the meeting were that the said compensation fee would be paid within 14days and that the cattle rearers will no longer graze their cows in Ezinihitte.
The meeting had in attendance various security agencies, including the Area Commander, DPO, DSS and Civil Defense.

Is My Governor losing it? Communal war in Anambra from Anambra West LGA to now Ayamelum LGA by Okechukwu Onyia

There is ongoing Communal war between Umumbo and Omor communities.

Report said that many have been killed and many houses destroyed.

That we could not nip crisis like this in the bud, get me worried.

I do not want to believe that Governor Obiano led Govt is now helpless to the extent that Anambra State is now a battle ground for bloodsheding by irresponsible individuals.

There should be consequences for such killings and wasting properties in Anambra State in name of any disagreement.

Constant Communal wars under Governor Obiano led Administration is not only damaging the image of the State, but also messing the image of his administration.

As a citizen, I want Gov Obiano to stand up
and be counted at this critical time!

Gov Mbadinuju stood up and made sure that Aguleri/Umueri/Umuoba war ended and other succeeding Governors sustained the established peace.

Let me end this by saying that Government of Anambra State led by Governor Obiano is telling the world that they can not police the state.

This are two farming communities in the State for goodness sake!

Arrest all the people involved in this nonsense!!!

Osodieme is not a guy name by Evang. Chinedu Obigwe

The name Osodieme is a well deserved Chieftaincy title conferred on Anambra Mother Theresa, Her Excellency Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano by His Royal Majesty, Eze C.N. idigo of blessed memory.

This Chieftaincy title was conferred on her before she became first lady of Anambra State.

I remember vividly that in one of my interview with Eze C.N idigo of blessed memory, he said that he conferred the title on Anambra Mother Theresa because she is blessed with a heart that is overflowing with milk of kindness.

He told me that the only thing that gives Osodieme joy is putting smiles on the faces of the  downtrodden.

Another thing I noticed about Osodieme is that she likes making the impossible to be possible hence the reason why she made history as the only First lady in Anambra State that is rehabilitating mentally deranged people, empowering them and reuniting them with their loved ones.

That is not enough because Osodieme is also providing artificial legs and limbs for the disabled ones.

He engages in acts of philanthropy with passion and feeling of fulfillment.

She feels fulfilled helping people on daily basis.

In this COVID-19 trying times, she is currently moving around Anambra State doing good to ensure that nobody among the needy is left out.

She started with the donation of 1million naira to Anambra State government through her NGO popularly known as CAFE.

After the donation, she now embarked on the distribution of food items and cash to the less privileged and physically challenged ones.

She has touched the lives of physically challenged people, touched the lives of 200 people in Ogbunike and touched the lives of the inmates in all the Correctional centres in Anambra State.

She touched their lives positively through the distribution of food items to them.

I had a deep reflection on her way of life and her way of doing things and arrived at the undisputed conclusion that Osodieme is not a guy name but a divine Chieftaincy title name that God used Eze C.N. idigo of blessed memory to confer on Anambra Mother Theresa, Her Excellency Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano.

To God be the glory that she is doing exactly what God brought her to do on this earth.

When you hear the name Osodieme, pray fervently to have a miraculous encounter her because if you do you will have good news to share to people.

 Daalu nu.

Just in! Bill Gates offered House of Reps $10m bribe for speedy passage of compulsory vaccine bill – CUPP alleges

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), on Monday, alleged that it has intercepted a human intelligence report that the Nigeria House of Representatives leadership was poised to forcefully pass the compulsory vaccine bill without subjecting it to the traditions of legislative proceedings.
In a statement issued and signed by the spokesperson of the opposition political parties, Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere and sent to DAILY POST in Abuja on Monday, the body urged lawmakers in the lower chamber to rise against impunity.
The body in the statement alleged that a sum of $10 million was offered by the American Computer Czar, Bill Gates for influence the speedy passage of the bill without recourse to legislative public hearing, a the development they averted as anachronistic, adding that the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila should be impeached if he forces the bill on members.
The statement read:
“Opposition Coalition (CUPP) has intercepted very credible intelligence and hereby alerts Nigerians of plans by the leadership of the House of Representatives led by Femi Gbajabiamila to forcefully and without adherence to the rules of lawmaking to pass the Control of Infectious Diseases Bill 2020 otherwise known as the Compulsory Vaccination Bill which is proposing a compulsory vaccination of all Nigerians even when the vaccines have not been discovered.
“This intelligence is coupled with the information of the alleged receipt, from sources outside the country but very interested in the Bill, of the sum of $10 million by the sponsors and promoters of the Bill to distribute among lawmakers to ensure a smooth passage of the Bill.
“This will manifest in a wishy-washy public hearing which the promoters still insist on cancelling under the pretext of containment of the spread of the coronavirus. The intelligence is that the House will under whatever guise pass the Bill tomorrow 5th May, 2020 upon resumption.
“The Nigeria opposition rejects the Bill and urges opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives to confront the Speaker of the House with these facts tomorrow at plenary and resist every plan to illegally pass the Bill.
“We have been informed that the alleged deal on the passage of the Bill was struck during a trip to Austria a few months back while the financial support for the promotion of the Bill was allegedly received last week to mobilize for a push leading to the hurried attempt to pass the Bill by any means necessary.
“Nigerians are reminded that at present, there is no discovered/approved vaccine anywhere in the world and one now begins to wonder why the hurry to pass a Bill for a compulsory vaccine when there is none.
“What if the world eventually does not find a vaccine or cure for coronavirus just like it has not found a cure for HIV AIDS? What is the hurry in passing a Bill based on speculation or is there anything else the leadership of the House would want to tell Nigerians? Is this bill what will stop the mass deaths and infections rising in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Gombe, Borno, Kaduna, Ogun, Bauchi and indeed all over the country?
“Is this Bill going to revive and grow the economy and reduce hunger and give us more testing kits or bed spaces? Is this Bill going to stop the stealing of palliatives meant for poor and vulnerable Nigerians? Is it true that all these noises for the Bill is all for the alleged $10 million?
“The leadership of the House needs to start speaking now on why the hurry when there are a lot of urgent Bills to be passed which are not being attended to.
“Where is the Bill to make the wearing of face masks compulsory now that the Federal Government has against all wisdom insisted on easing the lockdown and the people have trooped out already without obeying the health regulations that will make them safe?
“Where are the economic revival Bills to protect jobs and vulnerable Nigerian workers whose livelihoods are threatened daily by this pandemic? Where are the Bills to compel the Federal Government to look inwards and encourage emergency research for the manufacture of essentials like test kits, ventilators, Personal Protective Equipment, vaccines, drugs, masks, sanitizers etc
“All opposition lawmakers should prove they are not part of the evil or partakers of the financial inducement and confront Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila to come clean.
“Let all parliamentary rules be dropped and opposition members should turn the House upside down using their parliamentary privileges if that is what it takes to stop this foreign-sponsored Bill.
“Why make a law for a vaccine that has not been discovered? Does it mean that Femi Gbajabiamila and the promoters have an idea of the vaccine and when it will be ready? When nations like Madagascar are making local remedies which is working, APC is making a law to compulsorily inject Nigerians with vaccines our former slave masters have not yet discovered.
“The plan to push the passing of the bill is evil
“The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC did not make any contributions to the drafting of the Bill and has even told Femi Gbajabiamila to suspend the Bill as the timing is very wrong but Mr. Gbajabiamila believes he can secure the silence and acquiescence of the NCDC with all the illegal powers been provided for the NCDC in the Bill hence he still wants to push ahead with it the passage.
“Like we told the Federal Government before, do not bring Chinese doctors, shut our external borders, do not ease the lockdown, do not relax Kano lockdown and they refused to heed to wise counsel preferring to play myopic politics with the lives of Nigerians, today the community transmission is getting worse and it has almost been confirmed that the so called strange deaths in Kano of hundreds of citizens is a result of the COVID-19.
“We are saying loudly again and calling on House of Representatives to suspend this Control of Infectious Diseases Bill and await for proper input and scrutiny after the pandemic and charge all efforts towards giving the needed support to reduce the spread and find a homegrown solution.”

Just in! Nigerian Govt Receives $311m Abacha Assets From US, Jersey

General Sani Abacha was a Nigerian military Head of State in the 1990s.

The Nigerian government has received $311,797,866.11 recovered assets of General Sani Abacha repatriated from the United States and the Bailiwick of Jersey.

The Attorney-General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, confirmed this on Monday in a statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations at his office, Dr Umar Gwandu.

According to Malami, the amount increased significantly from over $308 million mentioned in an earlier statement in February to over $311million as a result of the interest that accrued from February 3 to April 28, when the fund was transferred to the Central Bank of Nigeria.

He noted that the litigation process for the return of the assets titled ‘Abacha III’ commenced in 2014 while the diplomatic process that culminated in the signing of the Asset Return Agreement commenced in 2018.

The agreement was signed on February 3 by the governments of Nigeria, the United States, and the Bailiwick of Jersey.

“This Agreement is based on international law and cooperation measures, that sets out the procedures for the repatriation, transfer, disposition, and management of the assets,” he said.

According to the statement, the recovery effort consolidates on the record of the Muhammadu Buhari administration which has a history of recovery of $322m from Switzerland in 2018.

It added that the recovered loots were transparently and judiciously deployed in supporting indigent Nigerians as specified in the agreement signed with Switzerland and the World Bank.

Malami, who led the negotiation team, noted that the tripartite agreement and the process towards the implementation represented a major watershed in International Asset Recovery and Repatriation as it sought to provide benefit to the victims of corruption.

He said, “In line with the 2020 Asset Return Agreement, the fund has been transferred to a Central Bank of Nigeria Asset Recovery designated account and would be paid to the National Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) within the next fourteen days.

“The NSIA is responsible for the management and execution of the projects to which the funds will be applied.”

The minister insisted that the latest recovery would support and assist in expediting the construction of three major infrastructure projects across Nigeria – Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, Abuja – Kano Road, and the Second Niger Bridge.

He revealed that the government was in the process of establishing a Project Monitoring Team to oversee the implementation of the projects and report regularly on progress made to the public.

In order to ensure transparent management of the returned assets, Malami said the government would engage a Civil Society Organisation who has combined expertise in substantial infrastructure projects, civil engineering, anti-corruption compliance, anti-human trafficking compliance, and procurement to provide additional monitoring and oversight.

He noted that the process for the engagement of the CSO monitor has already commenced with the adverts placed in two local newspapers.

The recovered funds, according to the minister, were laundered through the U.S. banking system and then held in bank accounts in the Bailiwick of Jersey.

He revealed that a U.S. Federal Court in Washington D.C. forfeited the money in 2014, as property involved in the illicit laundering of the proceeds of corruption arising in Nigeria during the period when General Abacha was Head of State from 1993 to 1998.

Malami added that in 2017, the Nigerian government filed a case in the Bailiwick of Jersey to assert its authority as the owner of the funds and as the victim of the action of General Abacha.

He, therefore, called for greater cooperation and mutual respect among countries in the implementation of expeditious cooperation measures already set out in the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, and in the implementation of the Global Forum on Asset Recovery (GFAR) principles on the repatriation of stolen assets.

The minister assured Nigerians that the government would ensure that the returned assets were transparently managed.
