Remarks attributable to Oseloka H. Obaze | ANSG’s relaxation of lockdown precipitate

ANSG’s relaxation of lockdown precipitate

I do not routinely comment on policy actions of ANSG. However, there is a time to speak up. While not privy to the reasons that informed Anambra State authorities relaxing it’s lockdown policy and “movement around Anambra,” I am extremely concerned that such a precipitate policy action has dire public health repercussions, more so since it is not accompanied by aggressive in-state testing.
While I remain mindful of the deleterious economic impact of a lockdown on Anambra population and businesses, I am firmly of the view that Anambra State can ill-afford to be blind to the total lack of census of asymptomatic carriers within the State. Also, State authorities cannot ignore the attendant cumulative R-Value; that is the number of people being infected daily by such unidentified infected persons. Neither can Anambra authorities ignore the fact that coronavirus is invisible, nimble, has trans-boundary capacity, and will spread exponentially. We must draw lessons from Kano State that went from zero to 147 cases in less than one week.
Consequently, State authorities in allowing even one or two unidentified, untested carriers unfettered access to Anambra’s general population, local communities, markets and churches, will spell nothing but a public health crisis in weeks and months ahead. I pray earnestly that I am wrong! OHO

Anambra APC are just empty vessels as Evang.Chinedu Obigwe reacted. See details

*Re - COVID-19:OBIANO HAS ABANDONED HIS RESPONSIBILITY-APC.*

Anambra APC is obviously constituted of confused politicians that are wallowing in their self inflicted political misfortune.

I have always referred to APC as Association of Past Criminals that will never wish ndi Anambra well.

The attempt of APC leadership in Anambra State to politicise an unfortunate Coronavirus pandemics that is wrecking havoc in the whole World is an evidential proof that they are evil doers.

Okelo Madukaife , the State Publicity Secretary of APC in his latest press release levelled unfounded allegations against the Governor and any sane mind that read his press release will see him as a mischief maker.

He was busy vomiting pathological lies against the Governor from his dirty mouth and his aim of vomiting such lies is to deceive ndi Anambra with outright falsehood.

Anybody that is truthful to himself will commend Governor Obiano's proactive measures in this Coronavirus pandemics trying times because his proactive measures is yielding fruitful result for ndi Anambra.

If not for his proactive measures, the story would have been different in our State.

It is not by accident that Anambra state recorded only one index case of the dreaded Coronavirus and our Governor lived up to the expectation of ndi Anambra by arresting the situation and ensuring that the case was well managed for the benefit of the victim and ndi Anambra in general.

I have always maintained that Governor Obiano is not like the deceitful politicians that are in APC.

Governor Obiano is a man whose words are his bond, what he says he will do is what he will do.

With Governor Obiano's known antecedents, ndi Anambra knows very well that they are in a safe hands and will not allow themselves to be hoodwinked and misled with APC propaganda.

Okelo Madukaife accused Governor Obiano of abandoning his promises in this Coronavirus pandemics trying period and am stating without mincing words that the Anambra APC State Publicity Secretary is a confirmed pathological liar from the pit of hell.

Since the outbreak of this pandemics, Governor Obiano has not rested rather he is working hard to ensure that the pandemics will not  wreck the magnitude of  havoc being witnessed in the world in our State and the resultant effects of his commendable efforts is that when Anambra recorded 1 index case of Coronavirus, it was well managed.

Okelo Madukaife veered of the Coronavirus pandemics subject of discussion and also accused the Governor of abandoning his Airport project , Vegetables exports and industrialisation agenda promise to ndi Anambra.

The above accusation is why I said that APC leaders and their members are the architects of their political misfortune in Anambra State. It is a shame that APC as a party in Anambra are just mere beer parlour and hairdressing salon gossipers that specialises in the fabrication of falsehood.

They  love chasing shadows by playing politics with issues that are not supposed to be politicized.

Governor Obiano did not renege on his promises because all that he promised to do for ndi Anambra is being fulfilled.

To the glory of God, the Anambra Airport project is ongoing, the Vegetables export business is also ongoing, any doubting Thomas should contact Grafil farms situated at Commissioners quarters with a Corporate office at Aroma junction to confirm my assertion.

As for industrialisation, that is an area Governor Obiano did very well.

He created the enabling environment for the business of our industrialist to thrive in Anambra State and at the same time doing anything they ask of him that will safeguard their investment.

I know of a man that can be referred to as my personal boss that is extremely happy with a favour Governor Obiano did for him that saved his 2billion naira investment from being a waste in Anambra State.

When such a man that is one of the biggest industrialist in igbo land reads Okelo Madukaife fallacious allegation of the Governor abandoning his industrialisation promise to ndi Anambra and remember the favour Governor Obiano did for him that made his 2billion naira industry project in Anambra State a reality, he will laugh at him and refer to him as a devilish agent that is on a deception mission of misleading ndi Anambra with concocted tissue of lies.

As far as unbiased ndi Anambra are concerned, Governor Obiano has justified the confidence reposed on him and they are saying thumbs up to him for his commendable efforts to ensure that ndi Anambra are safe from the dreaded Coronavirus pandemics.

 Daalu nu.

Hearts to heart saga...the reasons you must walk away

It may be true that he likes you so he doesn’t want you to go anywhere but he doesn’t love you enough to commit and settle down. So, he will see you and spend time with you but he won’t commit because he doesn’t want to make a promise that he can’t keep. You deserve better.
1. “I still want to see what is out there"
If he keeps going on and on about how he’s not ready to settle down because he’ll lose options and he’s not ready to do that, it's very bad. Well, at least he's being honest. So, in a way, he’s doing the right thing by not promising you something he won’t stick to. On the other hand, he’s playing you.
2. “I don’t see a future with you.”
So, he’s a nice guy and is good to you, but he’s not signing himself up to be with you. Why? He doesn’t see a future with you. If he doesn’t see a future with you, he doesn’t love you and he’s not worth another breath or second of your time.
3. “It’s not you, it's me.”
It may very well be “him.” His past relationship issues. His addiction. His fear of hurt. His life, college or job or family commitments. Sure, there may be reasons that he can’t commit. But when he says “it’s me,” he’s also saying, “It’s not you… the one I love.”

Just in! Man kills neighbour for not allowing him watch movies during lockdown

An occupant of Taiwo Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi area of Lagos, Taiwo Eluyemi, dispersed some neighbours who came to his apartment to watch movies on Wednesday in compliance with social distancing rule to curtail the spread of coronavirus.
He never knew the action would cost him his life 24 hours later.
One of the neighbours identified simply as Habeeb, who was upset by Eluyemi’s action reportedly ambushed him along the street on Thursday and hacked him to death.
City Round learnt that Eluyemi was popular in the neighbourhood, a personality that attracted people to his house.
It was gathered that Habeeb, who also resides on Taiwo Street, and his friends stormed Eluyemi’s house on Wednesday to watch movies but he turned them back on the grounds that his apartment was becoming crowded.
Eluyemi’s countenance was said to have angered Habeeb, resulting in an altercation between them.
A tenant in the area, Tope Akande, told our correspondent that some people intervened and both parties went their separate ways.
He said Eluyemi was returning from a church with his son when Habeeb waylaid him and stabbed him in the back and hand.
He stated, “There was a misunderstanding between Mr Eluyemi and Habeeb on Wednesday. Habeeb and his friends went to the man’s house to watch movies but he (Eluyemi) was not comfortable with it in the light of the social distancing everyone is trying to observe to avoid contracting coronavirus.
“He asked them to leave which led to a disagreement but it was later settled amicably. The man went to pick his son from the church not knowing Habeeb was already looking for him. He attacked the man with a cutlass and inflicted injuries on his back and left hand. He bled to death on the spot. The suspect has been handed over to the Makinde Police Station.”
A source in the community disclosed to City Round that Habeeb and Eluyemi had an issue sometime ago which was triggered by the Wednesday face-off.
The source said, “People usually go to his house to watch European League matches and movies. He was popular on the street and his house was opened to youths. The suspect had also been going there. As a result of the present situation, he didn’t want people to gather in his apartment again.
“The suspect and some youths went there on Wednesday afternoon and he told them to go away. It was after the incident happened on Thursday that I learnt they (Habeeb and Eluyemi) had a misunderstanding sometime ago. The suspect should be in his late twenties, while the deceased is in his forties.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, while confirming the incident, said investigation had commenced.
He said, “The suspect is already in custody. Two of them are friends. They had a misunderstanding. We are investigating the circumstances that led to the murder.”

The rice from the FG is infested with COVID 19 says Oyo state government. Read below:

They are infested” Oyo state government to return 1,800 bags of rice donated by FG as palliatives

The Oyo state government says it is currently in the process of returning the 1800 bags of rice the Federal government donated to the state as palliatives to cushion the economic impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Executive Assistant to the state governor, Seyi Makinde, on Agribusiness, Dr Debo Akande, explained that the 1,800 bags of rice from the Federal Government were infested with weevil and not suitable for consumption. The bags of rice were received from the state Federal government on Monday April 20th as palliatives.
“We received these items from the Federal Government via the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and we brought them to the warehouse. It was in the process of further inspection that we discovered that the rice had been infested with weevils.

On that basis, we formed a committee to re-inspect it so we can be sure of what we have received. We don’t want to create another problem while providing solution to another one. We have inspected it; we have done random selection and we have seen that similar things apply across the board.

We have agreed to return them to the source but if there are good ones with good quality that could be sent to us as replacement, we will be glad to receive them.” he said

Recall that early this month, President Buhari directed the Nigeria Customs Service to release One hundred and Fifty trucks of rice that have been seized from smugglers over a period of time. The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development have been distributing these bags of rice to different states which would in turn distribute to the poor and vulnerabe in the society.

NCDC VOMITS THRASH: SEE UPDATE

Nigeria is not yet at its Coronavirus peak yet; we still have a number of weeks to go - NCDC DG, Chikwe Ihekweazu

The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu has revealed that Nigeria still has some number of weeks to go before reaching its Coronavirus peak.

Chikwe however stated the agency he heads is instituting different measures to ensure the nation’s health system does not get overwhelmed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

He said on Channels Television’s 'Sunrise Daily';
“From our projection, we are not near the peak yet; we still have a number of weeks to go.

“But we are trying to stretch out these weeks even further so we can push the peak a bit further out but make sure that the peak is not as steep as it would otherwise have been if no measures were put in place.”

The NCDC DG who decried the limiting factors making the transmission of coronavirus possible in the country, said they are completely outside the control of the health sector.

Chikwe added;
“Of course, we are over-stretched … but we will not stop because we really don’t have an option NCDC boss admitted.

"At the moment and from what we know, we will not be able to radically stop in a day or two, or even a few weeks but what we are trying to do is really to stretch out that curve so that the health system can cope with the number of cases coming in.”
