Just in! NCDC denies reports of spending N1bn to send SMS to Nigerians

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC has denied claims it spent N1 billion to send SMS to Nigerians to educate them about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Social media has been agog with the claim that the agency spent N1 billion to send SMS to Nigerians on how to stop the spread of COVID-19. The agency has described the news as false.

When I said that Hon Chris Azubogu is using his media aide in the person of ikechukwu Onyia to blackmail Prof Soludo in a bid to convince PDP leaders that he can rub shoulders with Soludo that they are already seeing as APGA governorship candidate for the 2021 election, I know what am saying.

 Unfolding events has proved that my assertion right.

 Anambra State chapter of PDP issued a press release captioned, Re:N2b Fund Raised For Hospital, PDP Enjoins Prof Soludo, to come clean and Speak the Truth.

 The press release was issued by Nnamdi Nwangwu  their Publicity Secretary.

It's obvious that ikechukwu Onyia concocted tissue of lies against Soludo can only fly in the foolish imagination of disgruntled PDP leaders.

The truth is that Soludo left a transparent record of service in Nigeria as Former CBN Governor and EFCC authenticated my assertion with a clean bill of health letter that was given to him as a proof that he did not keep a fraudulent record while in office.

 Ikechukwu Onyia himself knows very well that he misfired because he did not get his facts well before authoring his politically motivated blackmail piece against Soludo.

As at today, the general public now know that 98percent of those that made that 2billion naira pledge did not redeem their pledge.

My investigation revealed that Anambra South accidental Senator ifeanyi Ubah was among those that made the pledge and he knows very well that he did not redeem his 110million naira pledge.

 He is not the only one, they are many but I used him as an example because it will be easier for doubting Thomases to verify from him.

My observation is that the way PDP leaders are attacking and blackmailing Soludo is an evidential proof that they have accepted defeat in the forthcoming governorship election.

What they are doing is facing the reality and telling themselves the home truth that Soludo emergence as APGA candidate for the 2021 governorship election is tantamount to an automatic victory for APGA in the election hence the reason why they are making a foolish attempt to smear his hard earned reputation with politically motivated blackmail.

The welfare and wellbeing of ndi Anambra in this Coronavirus pandemics trying times is not what PDP leaders are thinking of rather all they deemed necessary to offer ndi Anambra in this trying times is politically motivated blackmail of somebody that supported the State government fight against COVID-19.

 I will keep saying that PDP members are evil minded and that they derive joy from the perpetration of evil hence the reason why ndi Anambra must avoid them like the dreaded Coronavirus.

PDP TO APC: *Chinese Doctors: Hold Buhari, APC Responsible For Any COVID-19 Upsurge – PDP Tells Nigerians …Calls For Extra Vigilance*

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges Nigerians to hold President Muhammadu Buhari responsible should there be any upsurge in the rate of COVID-19 infection and death in our country following the importation of doctors from China, the epicenter of the scourge, by the Buhari-led Federal Government.

The PDP is alarmed that President Buhari ignored the protests by Nigerians and professional bodies including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and allowed the importation of the Chinese doctors despite warnings that bringing in doctors from the hotbed of the plague will expose our citizens to further risks.

This is even as Nigerians across board have continued to question the status, identity and interest of the Chinese doctors as well as the safety of kits and equipment from China, particularly following scary reports of escalation of the scourge in certain countries reportedly after the arrival of Chinese medical personnel in those countries.

Moreover, our doctors and nurses have been on top of the situation with records of recoveries and less casualties, thus raising questions about the real intentions of bringing in doctors from China.

The situation is even more distressing as the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 had been making frantic effort to exonerate itself from the decision to bring in the Chinese doctors into our country.

The PDP wants President Buhari to note that Nigerians already know the pace, intensity and trajectory of COVID-19 statistics at the time the Federal Government, which he leads, gave passage to these Chinese doctors.

Nigerians are aware that since the index case was reported till date, our nation’s COVID-19 data stands at 254 confirmed cases, out of which 44 have been successfully treated by our doctors with 6 deaths, which reportedly had other underlining ailments.

Our party therefore calls on the entire world to hold President Buhari responsible should there be any sudden upsurge in COVID-19 infection and deaths in our country, now that the Chinese doctors have been brought in despite protests by Nigerians.

The PDP however charges Nigerians to be extra vigilant at this time as our party also demands that the Presidential Task Force outlines the states and local governments where the Chinese doctors are expected to operate, to enable Nigerians monitor their activities as well as the aftermath of such activities.

Just know- No research linking 5G network to COVID-19 – Nigerian Govt

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has said there is no research linking the Fifth Generation Mobile Network, popularly known as 5G to Coronavirus.

Pantami explained that no international body like the World Health Organisation, WHO, and the International Telecommunication Union, ITU, has established a link between 5G and COVID-19.

Featuring on Channels Television last night, the Minister stated that the Federal Government won’t take decisions regarding 5G based on speculations online.

Reacting to a question linking the 5G network to COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister said: “Firstly, it is not what is said online that the government will work with. We are always taking decisions based on the opinions of experts, based on research.

“When it comes to health, we have (the) World Health Organisation and many health bodies.

“I just want you to bring out any research which they have conducted and (in which they) made their position about 5G’s relationship with COVID-19. I am yet to see anyone from the World Health Organisation.

“This is a body that accommodates our experts in health globally. We have ITU, the International Telecommunication Union.

“I just challenge you to let me know one expert or ITU as a body or any other professional body that conducted research and also made it public that this is the position.”

Just a few days ago, the Minister had disclosed that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government had not issued a 5G licence in the country.

Also, a one time Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye had charged Buhari to publicly kick against the launch of the 5G network.

Just on COVID-19: Don’t pay electricity bill for 3 months – Gov’t tells Nigerians

The organ of the Nigerian Government, the Federal House of Representatives has proposed two Months electricity stimulus for Nigerians over the effect of COVID-19 lockdown in Nigeria. The proposed bill will help Nigerians reduce financial burden created by COVID-19 lockdown.

According to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, the proposed bill will touch every Nigerians household.

He said: “The issue of electricity, you’ll agree, because the Minister did say that she has been inundated by the public, just as we are, on several suggestions and ideas and I am almost a hundred per cent sure that, from those ideas will be the issue of some kind of shelter, as far as electricity is concerned.

“It is one thing that will touch every household. As I said earlier, when we engaged, I discussed with the electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) that packaged whatever they would require, if the government can give them, for us to allow for two months free electricity for Nigerians, they would be able to guarantee it.

“We have figures. I think we should look very seriously into that as part of our package for economic stimulus because stimulus means something that will stimulate the economy. When you are stimulating the economy, most of it will come from the informal sector.

“When you are saving people their electricity and the fact that they now have stable electricity for two months, you are also saving the monies that would go into the payment of those bills at least for two months.”
